Enjoy this protein-rich drink as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up OR as a great nutritious snack. Matcha is one of my favourite skin foods because it is so nutrient-dense. Unlike a regular cup of coffee, matcha's caffeine is released slowly to prolong its energetic effects on the body. This is all thanks to the natural protein found in matcha called L-theanine. Matcha is also an amazing source of vitamin C and vitamin A, both of which are considered potent antioxidants.
This recipe is an absolute win because both my mom and my picky-eating brother approve of the taste
I hope you guys like it, too 🥰
Serves: 1
Prep time: 1 min
Total time: 3 mins
INGREDIENTS
1 tsp organic matcha powder (I used Elan brand)
1 Tbsp sugar or 1/2 Tbsp powdered sugar (I used powdered erythritol)
1 Tbsp vanilla protein powder (I used TLS Creamy Vanilla Nutrition Shake Protein Powder)
3 Tbsp water
ice cubes
1 cup almond milk (or any other plant-based milk
Instructions:
1) Set aside a cup of almond milk with 3-4 ice cubes
2) Using a frother or hand mixer, whip together matcha powder, sugar, protein powder and water. The longer you whip, the fluffier the matcha mixer gets.
3) Pour matcha mixture slowly onto chilled almond milk.
4) Give it a good mix, sip, and enjoy!

Darlene's Notes & Tips:
⭐️ Vanilla protein powder compliments matcha really nicely
⭐️ If you don't have matcha powder, you can swap it for cocoa powder
